Youth Writing Camp

Give kids a voice at the National Writing Project at Kent State University's (NWP-KSU) Youth Writing Camp this summer!  The camp, led by NWP-KSU teacher consultants, will be held virtually via Zoom from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.
Open to kids entering 4th through 7th grade, the camp cost is $15 per student. The camp offers kids a way to engage in a morning of creative activities designed and led by certified National Writing Project Teacher Consultants.
The camp will spark kids' creativity, allow them to choose what to write, and provide them with the opportunity to express themselves in a variety of media while sharing their writing with a supportive audience. The morning's activities will be led by Camp Director Aleesha Bradick and teacher consultants Ann Hagedorn, Amy Krajeck, Jean Kanzinger, and Angie Briggs. Download the flyer and share it with friends!
For more information, contact Camp Director Aleesha Bradick at youthwritingcampKSU@gmail.com or 216-926-1218. By registering, parents agree to the Terms and Conditions.

2021 Write Where You Are Poetry Contest Winners

For the 2021 Write Where You Are Poetry Contest, K-12 students across Ohio were asked to write original poems about physical places which hold special meaning to them. After receiving dozens of submissions, the poems were judged based on the writer’s ability to encapsulate the emotional impact of one place on one page.
