Advanced Leadership Institute (ALI)
Open to Teacher Consultants (TCs) - alumni of the Invitational Summer Institutes - the 2016-17 Advanced Leadership Institute allows TCs to collaborate, provide leadership in their schools, and continue to grow as writers and readers. In the supportive environment of ALI, TCs share ideas and experiences to help each other promote the philosophies of the National Writing Project within their schools and enhance their own teaching.
Led by Dr. Debra DeBenedictis and Jean Kanzinger, ALI meets monthly on Thursday evenings during the school year, with one Saturday morning session in October. Each participant completes a leadership project in his or her school - especially helpful for resident educators. One participant in the 2015-16 ALI notes, "By trying leadership within your own school, you are starting a wave of hope - a rolling power that could ultimately affect many people."
Registration form and payment are due by August 15.
